Nielsen Research Media has recently released a ranking that shows some of the most anticipated games for these holidays, and
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is topping the list in terms of multiplatform releases.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the second most anticipated for these holidays, according to the studio conducted by Nielsen, followed by
Battlefield V,
Fallout 76, and
Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The criteria for this study saw purchase interest and consumer ratings for 82 different games that are releasing from the 1st of September until the 31st of December—ranking these titles from 1 to 100, being the most anticipated the ones getting ratings closer to 100.
In regards to console exclusives,
Marvel's Spider-Man tops the list for most anticipated titles on the PlayStation 4 with a solid 100, while
Forza Horizon 4 is the most anticipated console exclusive on the Xbox One with an 84. The Nintendo Switch's most anticipated title is
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with a solid 98 in a tie with
Super Mario Party. This year, however, there were no PC nor Nintendo 3DS titles making the list at all.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was released today for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and it has been getting very favourable reviews from video game media outlets, getting a solid 87% on Metacritic. I guess the real question here is did they not know that the number four in
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, in Roman numerals, is spelt IV and not IIII?
Black Ops is back! Featuring gritty, grounded, fluid Multiplayer combat, the biggest Zombies offering ever with three full undead adventures at launch, and Blackout, where the universe of Black Ops comes to life in one massive battle royale experience.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC today.
