Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 recently saw the addition of Alcatraz to its "Blackout" battle-royale mode. This close-quarters-combat area is based on the fan-favourite Zombies mode map, Blood of the Dead, which itself is based on another Zombies mode map, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's Mob of the Dead, which itself is based on a famous and eery real-life prison in San Francisco.

Alcatraz's time on the Blackout map was short-lived, however, as it was removed within weeks of it being added. This was to make room for the newest expansion to the game: Operation Spectre Rising. Naturally, many fans were shocked and frustrated with the decision to remove this portion of the map, many wondering when or if it would return.

Thankfully, Treyarch recently took to social media (@Treyarch) to confirm that the fan-favourite segment of Blackout will be returning very soon. Answering a fan's question on Twitter, the studio explains that May 7th will see Alcatraz's reintroduction to the battle-royale mode. And what's more, it will apparently be feature some new improvements.
