Far Cry 5's Season Pass ($29.99) features not only three totally different mini-campaigns (featuring aliens, zombies and the Vietcong) but also an early access to the Far Cry 3 "remaster". Unfortunately, this Far Cry 3 Classic Edition contains only the single player campaign with all the additional DLCs, and the game will be officially released in the standalone version on June 26, 2018.
The Season Pass owners are privileged with a four-week-long early access, starting today. The PC players who have purchased Far Cry 5's Season Pass will receive the full version of Far Cry 3 "for free". According to Ubisoft, this is not a remaster and just a re-release, a port of the game that came out six years ago, so you should forget about the graphical splendor and beautiful vistas of Far Cry 5 right now.
But Far Cry 3 has something the other Far Cry games don't - one of the best villains in the history of video gaming. While Pagan Min and the Seed family were all enjoyable to watch and pretty charismatic, no one comes close to Mr. Montenegro. Michael Mondo’s performance is a thing to behold and it's worth to take a look at Far Cry 3 to just observe this beloved, crazy (?) maniac.
Far Cry 3 is an open world first-person shooter set on an island unlike any other. A place where heavily armed warlords traffic in slaves. Where outsiders are hunted for ransom. And as you embark on a desperate quest to rescue your friends, you realize that the only way to escape this darkness… is to embrace it.
Owners of Far Cry 5's Season Pass can download and play Far Cry 3: Classic Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One NOW, as the general release for Xbox One and PS4 is currently planned for June 26, 2018.
