Epic Games has announced a deadly new addition coming soon to
Fortnite Battle Royale's arsenal: remote explosives.
Revealed on Twitter, Epic teased a photo of the new item along with the caption:
"Explosive action, from a distance!"
The remote explosives in
Fortnite will presumably work similarly as in other multiplayer shooters; players will place a charge and then detonate it from a distance. This new item should add a new layer of strategy to the popular battle royale game as you can potentially wipe out opponents effectively from a distance with just the press of a button.
While explosives are fun and all, we can't help but wonder when Jetpacks will arrive.
Revealed at the end of February, the Jetpack was
delayed ahead of patch 3.1.0 in early March and instead replaced with the
Hunting Rifle. In a recent developer update, systems designer Eric Williamson explained of the Jetpack delay,
"In our internal playtest we identified some issues with it and we wanted to make sure those were all sorted out before we release it." Unfortunately, there's no word on when that may be.
