There's just a few more weeks left in
Fortnite Battle Royale's Season 4 and to give players on the cusp of level 80 a little boost,
Epic is hosting a bonus XP weekend. Starting today and running through the weekend, players will earn an extra 100% bonus XP for matches. The bonus event has already started and is scheduled to end on July 2nd at 3:00 a.m. EDT (07:00 GMT).
As a reminder, players have until the end of Season 4 in two more weeks to reach level 100 Battle Pass Tier (achieved through Battle Stars) along with a standard level of 80 (achieved through XP). Reaching max tier for the Battle Pass will unlock the coveged Omega skin. However, new to this season, you are able to upgrade the skin based on your regular level. At level 80, you have all of the different cosmetic options available to you which is why players are so eager to hit that mark. Unfortunately, the final 15 levels or so take a long time to grind through, so this weekend's bonus XP event helps a lot; although, it's unlikely to make a difference unless you are already close to level 80.
In any case, the event is live so get your parachute ready! Additionally, week 9's Battle Pass challenges are also live. If you've already hit Tier 100, any challenge you complete will convert into bonus XP. If you're not sure about your level progress,
the folks over on Reddit have created a helpful spreadsheet that calculates and estimates how many more matches you'll need to play.
