4A Games has released the third and final episode of “
The Making of Metro Exodus” mini-series, giving us a chance to look back on the evolution of
Metro: Exodus and how the Ukrainian developers worked together as a close-knit team to achieve their goals and vision for the game. The video was filmed on location in Kyiv and Malta, featuring interviews with key personnel, archive footage, and photos.
Metro: Exodus is only partially inspired by Dmitry Glukhovsky's best-selling
Metro 2035 novel, concluding the story of the series main protagonist, Artyom, and his odyssey to the East that started back in 2010 in the
Metro 2033 video game and was continued in
Metro: Last Light. In
Exodus, Artyom and his wife Anna will travel by the heavily modified steam locomotive Aurora to reach Vladivostok.
During their expedition, the brave few will explore ruined cities, radioactive swarms, and even the dried up canyons of the Caspian Sea. To survive in this hostile world, Artyom and his new family will have to learn how to improvise to kill some pretty nightmarish creatures like mutated bears and spiders.
Metro: Exodus is right around the corner, so be sure to check out the latest dev diary below:
The year is 2036. A quarter-century after nuclear war devastated the earth, a few thousand survivors still cling to existence beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro. They have struggled against the poisoned elements, fought mutated beasts and paranormal horrors, and suffered the flames of civil war. But now, as Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East. Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created.
Metro: Exodus will be releasing on February 15, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
