Two Major Pieces Of Story-Driven DLC Will Be Available For METRO: EXODUS By Early 2020
Your Metro: Exodus journey is not over yet, as the development team at 4A Games is working on two major story expansions that will focus on brand-new stories told from totally different perspectives...
While Metro: Exodus already is a finished and satisfying package, the devolvement team at 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver are not planning to abandon the critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic shooter anytime soon – in fact, the Expansion Pass roadmap for Metro: Exodus has just been shared online.
According to Deep Silver, two major story-driven DLCs will be available for Metro: Exodus by "early 2020," allowing the player to take a look at the ruined Russia from two different perspectives. Instead of playing as the series' main protagonist Artyom, players will have the chance to see through the eyes of two new characters, including one of the Spartan Rangers and Aurora’s only American, Sam.
The first DLC will be coming this summer, titled The Two Colonels. In the expansion, you will take on the role of Colonel Khlebnikov to lurk beneath the surface, under the dead city of Novosibirsk, as he makes his way home to his son, Kirill, for New Year’s Eve. The new DLC will feature 4A Games' original story-driven (and also more linear) gameplay and a brand-new weapon – a deadly flame-thrower.
Sam's Story, Exodus' second major DLC, will debut in early 2020 as a "new sandbox-survival level based on Vladivostok." In the DLC, "Sam, a US marine at the Moscow embassy before the bombs were dropped [...], makes his way away from the Aurora in search of a way back to the USA, arriving at the remains of Vladivostok’s tsunami ravaged harbors, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts. To complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected."
The Two Colonels and Sam's Story will be available as part of the expansion pass, but you will also be able to buy each of them separately, with more details on the DLCs being shared in the coming months.
The year is 2036. A quarter-century after nuclear war devastated the earth, a few thousand survivors still cling to existence beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro. They have struggled against the poisoned elements, fought mutated beasts and paranormal horrors, and suffered the flames of civil war. But now, as Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East. Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created.
Metro: Exodus is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC NOW!
