4A Games has released yet another part of the brand new
Metro: Exodus-focused "making of" web series, giving us a chance to take a closer look at the development team behind the game. It's the first chapter of a three part documentary series filmed on location in Kyiv and Malta at 4A’s two studios, we learned more about the studio's approach to reinventing the old formula, while the second video puts the spotlight on the powerful 4A Engine - the Ukrainian developer's cutting edge in-house tech.
Metro Exodus, partially inspired by Dmitry Glukhovsky's best-selling
Metro 2035 novel, will continue Artyom's odyssey to the East that started in 2010's
Metro 2033 video game and progressed in
Metro: Last Light. To reach Vladivostok in
Exodus' version of the Far East, Artyom and his beloved Anna will travel by the Aurora, the heavily modified steam locomotive, using the famed Trans-Siberian Railway.
To survive in this hostile post-apocalyptic world, Artyom will have to learn how to improvise to kill nightmarish creatures that would love to eat his brain, including mutated bears that are extremely resistant to firearms. Be sure to take a closer look at
Exodus and its all-new trailers down below:
The year is 2036. A quarter-century after nuclear war devastated the earth, a few thousand survivors still cling to existence beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro. They have struggled against the poisoned elements, fought mutated beasts and paranormal horrors, and suffered the flames of civil war. But now, as Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East. Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created.
Metro: Exodus will be releasing on February 15, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
