Earlier this week, Blizzard Entertainment made public the schedule for the upcoming BlizzCon 2019 event —
which you can find out more about here. What was most interesting about the schedule and riled up the gaming community; the schedule featured multiple mysterious time slots that weren't detailed.
There has been much speculation in regards to what could be showed off during these time slots, the most predominant predictions being
Diablo 4 and
Overwatch 2. It's becoming more and more likely that the latter will be announced
as some seemingly legitimate promotional images leaked online earlier today and revealed a new look for Tracer and the game's logo.
Now, some more images have leaked online (via
@Slasher) and add even more credence to the rumours that
Overwatch 2 will soon be announced and that the prior images that surfaced online are indeed official. This time, the most prominent feature of the images is a new look for Lucio.
We're also shown another look at Tracer's new design. The character can be seen beside a new menu which instructs players to
"Select a talent." If the new mechanic is anything like that of the same name which features in Paladins; players will be able to choose a gimmick before a match to enchance their abilities in the proceeding conflict.
Reputable leakers have suggested that Overwatch 2 will be announced after an animated cinematic is shown. It seems that at least one of these images is a shot from that cinematic — albeit a blurry one. However, despite the quality of the image, we can tell that Mercy and Reinhardt have a new look — the same as Tracer and Lucio do.
A somewhat new character by the name of Sojourn. She previously featured as only a voice in the Storm Rising in-game event and was also teased in Overwatch's very first trailer. Though the images seem to have come from different sources, it's worth noting that Lucio's design in both of which he features is the same — not to mention, the consistent logo.
