Wait no more, as Bethesda Softworks has officially released
Rage 2's announcement trailer that leaked a couple of hours ago. But even before that, Walmart Canada had leaked the game's existence alongside a plenty of big-budget titles such a
s Gears of War 5, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Just Cause 4, and more, so Bethesda's final confirmation of
Rage 2 also seemingly makes the leak even more legit.
According to
Rage 2's first synopsis, the game will give players a chance to "
dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. RAGE 2 brings together a true open world FPS experience where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything." It's basically the same promise from 2010's
Rage, and hopefully (presumably) idSoftware will execute this idea properly.
The live-action trailer unveils first interesting details about the sequel. It looks like we should forget about the grim and grey art style of the first
Rage, as
Rage 2 is approaching the
Suicide Squad, Borderlands, and
Max Max territory at high speed. Just like in the first game,
Rage 2 is going to revolve around chaos and anarchy, but in a much different way (with a lot of pink, yellow, and screaming).
Rage 2's official box art has also been revealed (and it's offensively gaudy like the rest of the game), alongside the confirmation that Bethesda's new project will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but there's no release date yet. The publisher has also announced that the official gameplay reveal for Rage 2 will be released tomorrow, May 15. Until then, check out the cringy trailer below:
