With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 due out in less than a month, Activision and developer Treyarch have shared the first details regarding the game's post-launch plans. Aiming "to deliver a new level of community support and engagement for Black Ops featuring the most active calendar of events in studio history," Black Ops 4 will receive a mix of both paid-for and free downloadable content spanning the game's modes - Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout.

Detailing some of the free content coming our way post-launch, Treyarch confirmed that the Black Ops 4 version of the fan-favorite map Nuketown will arrive in November. Additionally, a new Specialist character will debut in December with more to follow. Blackout, the new battle royale mode, will also continually "evolve" with map updates, expansions, and new modes. And finally, Treyarch has plans for seasonal and limited-time events featuring new game modes and content.

A Black Ops Pass (aka a Season Pass) will also be available for purchase, providing even more additional post-launch content.

PlayStation 4 gamers will still get first access to all future Black Ops 4 DLC; however, in a surprising announcement, it was revealed that the exclusivity period has been drastically shortened to just seven days. Previously, Xbox One and PC would have to wait at least one month before receiving access to the latest DLC DLC.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases on October 12, 2018, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
