FORTNITE Adds An Input-Based Matchmaking Mode To Its Playlist

Fortnite is a huge success with all kinds of gamers: casuals, semi-hardcores and hardcores. Partially for having no competitive matchmaking. However, a recent post by Epic Games suggests otherwise.

Epic Games just announced via Twitter they have plans to incorporate an input-based matchmaking in Fortnite. Of course, registering inputs will seperate PC users from Console players.

This was announced in the company's development update. They have plans for more changes affecting the game's controls. If you are a PC player, you will be grouped with people who have the same setup. Here is what the official post says:

“We have an upgrade to our matchmaking logic that will allow for a more even playing field when enjoying Fortnite with your input device of choice. In an upcoming release we’ll be implementing input based matchmaking, which will pair you against players who are using the same peripherals (e.g. controller vs controller, KB+M vs KB+M).”

We don't know when this change will be added but it sure is good news for console players. You won't have to deal with PC player speed and accuracy. If anyone in your console party is a PC player, your group will be placed against PC players. If you don't want to face PC at all, you will have to include console players only.

Check out the full list of changes here. What do you think of all these changes? PC and console should play seperate?

Fortnite is available for free on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Mobile and PC.
