With all of the excitement surrounding the return of EA Sports College Football this month, you may have forgotten that EA Sports has another bit sports title launching soon. Madden NFL 25 is set to arrive August 16 and with just a few weeks to go, the developer has begun the process for player ratings reveals.

Player ratings in Madden are always a hot-button topic as there's plenty of room for debate over who should be the best-rated players in the game. EA kicked things off with the flashiest position in the league: wide receiver.

While all of the launch ratings for wide receivers in Madden NFL 25 were revealed, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill got special attention as he is the first player to be welcomed into this year's Club 99. The designation means that Tyreek Hill has a game-perfect 99 overall rating at the launch of Madden 25.

Hill began last year's game as the second-best receiver with a 98 overall. However, he was quickly bumped up to a 99 rating, and it seems to have carried over into Madden NFL 25. Nicknamed "Cheetah," Hill boasts 99 Speed, 98 Agility, and 92 Jumping.

Right behind him on the list is Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson with a 98 Overall. One of the most talented receivers in the league, Jefferson was actually a Club 99 member to start off in Madden 24. Now he'll have to do a bit of work to return there, which won't be easy with that quarterback room.

Perhaps the most shocking reveal was CeeDee Lamb. The explosive Cowboys' receiver checks in as the third-best receiver in Madden 25, but with only a 96 overall rating. This is exactly where he finished at the end of the season in Madden 24, so perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised. Still, it feels a bit low for a guy who finished first in the league in receptions (125) and second in yards (1,749) and touchdowns (12).

Rounding out the top 10 for wide receivers at the launch of Madden NFL 25 is:

  • A.J. Brown - 95 OVR
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown - 95 OVR
  • Davante Adams - 94 OVR
  • Ja'Marr Chase - 93 OVR
  • Stefon Diggs - 92 OVR
  • Brandon Aiyuk - 91 OVR
  • Mike Evans - 91 OVR

Do you agree with the initial launch ratings for wide receivers in Madden NFL 25? The good news is these ratings will fluctuate throughout the season depending on how these players perform in real life.
