Prior to the start of the 2019 NFL Draft, EA officially
unveiled this year's
Madden NFL 20. Gracing the cover on this year's installment is none other than Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and rising NFL star Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes put together an NFL MVP caliber type season last year, throwing for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns. His breakout season — his first as an NFL starter — helped inspire
Madden NFL 20's new mode, Face of the Franchise: QB1. This personalized career campaign allows players to create their own quarterback, play through the College Football Playoff, experience the NFL Combine and Draft, and start for an NFL team.
Commenting on the honor of being named Madden NFL 20's cover athlete, Mahomes said:
“The last year has been life-changing for me and landing the cover of Madden NFL 20 is both a huge honor and a dream come true as a lifelong Madden fan. To also get the opportunity to impact the experience in the new Face of the Franchise: QB1 by providing input on the gameplay is something I never expected. I played Madden with my dad when I was a kid, and this is definitely a full circle moment for me.”
EA only scratched the surface of what's to come in this year's
Madden game. The developer has plans to share more details over the course of the next month though scheduled livestream events. Kicking things off on May 2 is a livestream that will focus on Face of the Franchise: QB1 and Franchise Mode.
Madden NFL 20 will be available worldwide on August 2, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC (Origin). Pre-ordering the Superstar Edition or Ultimate Superstar Edition will get you three-days early access to begin playing on July 30. These special editions will also come with a bunch of digital bonuses for Madden Ultimate Team.
