Avalanche Studios announced
Generation Zero, the first self-published project in the history of
Just Cause and
Mad Max developer, a while ago. According to the studio,
Zero features a vast open world, rendered with the award-winning Apex engine that displays a full day/night cycle with unpredictable weather, complex AI behavior, realistic acoustics and most importantly - a dynamic 1980’s soundtrack.
Generation Zero can be played alone or with up to three of your friends in the co-op multiplayer mode. In this reimagining of 1980’s Sweden, hostile machines have invaded the serene countryside, and you need to fight back while unravelling the mystery of what has happened. By utilizing battle tested guerilla tactics, you’ll be able to lure, cripple, or destroy enemies in intense sandbox skirmishes.
YouTube user GameRiot already had a chance to check out
Generation Zero’s closed beta and you can take a look at his recorded walkthrough down below. The gameplay features small taste of the strategic combat and exploration that we can expect to experience, and all this whilst unravelling the mystery of what is actually going on.
Generation Zero will hit stores at some poing next year. Take a look:
