We have great news for Minecraft fans, as Mojang Studios reveals that the best-selling title will soon take players to a galaxy far, far away with the all-new Star Wars content that has just become available in Minecraft's Marketplace; a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Mojang Studios reveals that this new Star Wars content will be including pretty much everything seen in the series' original trilogy, including classic, and beloved characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Han Solo, Darth Vader, C-3PO, and R2-D2, to name only but a few.

But what is Star Wars without its famous locations we've all dreamed of visiting, or the iconic vehicles we can only wish existed in real life? Well, Minecraft players will now be able to visit some of these locations like Hoth, Tattooine, the Forest Moon of Endor, Nevarro, and both Death Star stations.

It gets even better, as Mojang Studios reveals that content from Disney+'s critically acclaimed The Mandalorian series has also hit the Minecraft Marketplace, and the developers have mentioned thatthey wanted to give players the Razor Crest in order to visit locations seen on the show.

"This is by far one of the most exciting Minecraft DLC mash-ups ever created. The team built all the iconic Star Wars locations, including Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, Nevarro, and the Death Stars, and populated them with the creatures, vehicles, droids, and characters you would expect to see," reveals 4J Studios' David Keningale.

"We made sure to include as much as we could from the original trilogy and The Mandalorian series, and packed every planet with detail and movie moments. If you can think of a particular scene or location from this era of Star Wars, chances are we built it. You can take it further too, building and roleplaying your own scenes to build your own Star Wars adventure."

Unfortunately, neither the prequels nor the sequels have been included in this Star Wars/Minecraft mash-up, but there is plenty of content for players to still get excited over, and judging by the trailer and the screenshots that Mojang Studios has released, it looks like players won't be missing out on anything.
