Monster Hunter World just keeps setting records. After setting a Capcom record for most units shipped in its first three days,
Monster Hunter World has now become the publisher's fastest selling game to date with 6 million units shipped.
Capcom announced the latest milestone on its
website, and later shared it on the official
Japanese Monster Hunter World Twitter account.
It's worth noting that units shipped isn't the same as units sold, but it is a good indication of a game's popularity. Another good indicator is
Monster Hunter World's place atop the paid game category on Xbox One as well as the top spot on the PlayStation Store.
Capcom plans to support
Monster Hunter: World over the long term through
a number of free downloadable updates, which will include additional monsters among other content. The first major update will be arriving in Spring 2018 and will include the addition of the fan-favorite monster Deviljho.
Players will be able to put their hunting skills to the test against this brute. The Deviljho must feed constantly and will devour anything in its way, even feeding on the largest of monsters with its massive jowls. This wild beast really is one for only the bravest of hunters to take on!
Monster Hunter World is now available on PS4 and Xbox One with a PC release planned for later this year.
