Check out the official gameplay trailer with the official announcement for the game below:
In Duskfade, players step into the shoes of Zirian, a young workshop apprentice thrust into an epic journey to restore time itself in a world trapped in perpetual night. The game’s narrative centers on themes of courage, growth, and hope, delivering a heartfelt coming-of-age tale set in a “clockpunk” universe filled with magic and mystery.
Weird Beluga’s richly stylized world design spans a variety of striking environments—from misty ethereal forests and sun-drenched dunes to underwater ruins and sky-high cloud realms. Each area is crafted by the mythical Master Clockmakers and brims with secrets, collectibles, and compelling characters.
Gameplay-wise, Duskfade offers an exhilarating mix of fast-paced combat and intricate platforming. Players will jump, dash, glide, and grapple their way through layered challenges, using precise timing and quick reflexes to navigate complex terrain and take on foes. The blend of retro-inspired design and fluid modern mechanics creates a gameplay experience meant to resonate with longtime fans of the genre while welcoming newcomers.
“Duskfade is a gorgeous action-platformer that recalls the classic gameplay of some of our all-time favourite 3D platforming games,” said Sarah Hoeksma, Chief Marketing Officer at Fireshine Games. “The game’s developer Weird Beluga is an immensely talented team, with a wealth of enthusiasm for platformers and an eye for crafting incredible, gorgeous worlds to explore. We’re so excited for fans of 3D platformers to discover the wondrous world of Duskfade next year.”
Weird Beluga is no stranger to success in the indie space. Their debut title, Clid the Snail, earned Best Game of the Year and Best Art honors at PlayStation Talents in 2019. The game later launched in 2021 in partnership with Koch Media, cementing the studio’s reputation for artistic flair and creative storytelling.
With Duskfade, the team aims to deliver another unforgettable adventure, blending nostalgic charm with bold new ideas. The reveal trailer and early previews have already generated buzz within the platforming community, drawing comparisons to beloved classics like Jak and Daxter and Ratchet & Clank.
Duskfade is scheduled for release in 2026. Players eager to explore its vibrant, time-twisted world can wishlist it now on Steam and wait for more updates as development progresses.
