Unveiled during the latest PlayStation State of Play, Hirogami is the newest project from Bandai Namco Studios Singapore and Kakehashi Games. This 3D action platformer, inspired by the ancient art of origami, is set to release on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on September 3, 2025.

Originally showcased at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 as a PC-exclusive title, Hirogami impressed with its unique art direction and creative gameplay mechanics. Now, it's officially heading to consoles, giving PS5 players a chance to step into its beautifully folded world. Check out the unveiling trailer from the State Of Play stream down below:

What Is Hirogami?

Hirogami follows the story of Hiro, a courageous young warrior defending the peaceful lands of Shishiki Village from an otherworldly threat known as the Blight. These digital invaders threaten to unravel Hiro’s fragile paper world, and only by mastering ancient folding techniques can balance be restored.

In this narrative-driven platformer, Hiro utilizes magical origami animal forms to traverse terrain, overcome puzzles, and defeat corrupted enemies:

  • Armadillo Form: Roll through hazards and smash barriers with defensive might.
  • Ape Form: Scale vertical obstacles, ground-pound enemies, and power through dense forest canopies.
  • Frog Form: Leap to unreachable heights and reach hidden areas with agile, acrobatic movement.

The game blends action-platforming, puzzle-solving, and combat mechanics, encouraging players to adapt their folding forms to suit each unique challenge. With an aesthetic rooted in Japanese paper art, Hirogami offers a tranquil yet intense journey across a world as delicate as it is dangerous.
