Back in July of this year, Sega surprised fans of the long-neglected
Super Monkey Ball series — by revealing that they were working on an HD remaster of the first game in the series; scheduled to release for home consoles on the
19th of October and on PC(Steam) at some point
this Winter.
Besides the enhanced graphics that
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD will feature, gameplay has remined almost intact in its entirety; nothing to worry about, though, since the game's controls have always been tight and precise, not to mention ridiculously fun.
In regards to the game's controls, however, Sega decided not to make use of motion controls to control the characters, but that is also what makes the game even more faithful to the originals.
What the developers did decide to do is adding none other than their very own Sonic the Hedgehog as a playable character in
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, and they have released a fast-paced gameplay trailer to show the Blue Blur off.
