Very rarely do game companies today re-create nostalgia the way Big Evil Corporation did with their game, TANGLEWOOD, which is to release their new 16-bit puzzle-platformer for an old console.

The game looks to perfectly capture all the nuances of 16-Bit 80s-90s platformers as it was created using an actual 'Development Kit' by SNASM2, a product used specifically to create games for the SEGA Genesis (per their Kickstarter page).  The project was successfully backed on the ever popular crowdfunding site, Kickstarter, and was set to originally release on the SEGA Mega Drive (Japanese console) and Genesis (American console).

Based on their website, they are currently only selling pre-orders for a second batch of Sega Genesis/Mega Drive cartridges set to ship in October 2018, but the title is available right now on Steam(Windows PC, Mac OS, and Linuxfor $17.99 USD.

The game is set in the world of Tanglewood, and players take on a young fox-like creature, Nymn, as he was seperated from his pack at nightfall.  Players must now make sure he finds his way safely home through whatever troubles the darkness brings.

TANGLEWOOD is available for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive today.
