For anyone not familiar with
Puyo Puyo Champions, it is a tile-matching puzzle game, in the same vein of Alexey Pajitnov's critically acclaimed
Tetris, part of the
Puyo Puyo developed and published by Sega — which was announced last week for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
Unlike
Tetris, however, players need to match
puyos of the same color in groups of four(or more) in order to pop them. The other difference is that players need to beat an opponent in order to win, and this is where things get trickier as the both the player and the opponent can attack each other with
garbage puyos.
It may sound more complicated than it actually is, but getting the hang of it can still be tricky for beginners, and that's why today Sega has released a Beginner Tutorial video for
Puyo Puyo Champions, ahead of the game's release
tomorrow, to help newcomers learn how to play the game more effectively.
