THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games (founded by core designers from Vigil Games, the original creators of the
Darksiders series) are indeed working on a Nintendo Switch port of the first (and highest-rated)
Darksiders video game. Although THQ hasn't released any press release to confirm this news, you can watch the game's new announcement trailer (uploaded to THQ Nordic’s media server) down below.
About two weeks ago, it was revealed that
Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is coming to Switch, when Gunfire Games wrote on
Darksiders' Twitter profile that they "
did not start the Apocalypse early, nor did we prematurely talk about an upcoming game!"
Warmastered Edition was initially released in 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, followed by a Wii U version that was released in May 2017.
Considering that
Darksiders 2 is also available on Wii U (and that version of the game wasn't half bad), there's a chance THQ will also port the acclaimed sequel to Switch down the line. As a reminder,
Darksiders III hit stores in November, giving players an opportunity to hunt down The Seven Deadly Sins as War's impatient sister, Fury. Take a closer look at
Darksiders: Warmastered Edition down
below:
Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth. Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible. Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication.
Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is currently avaiallbe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC; coming to Nintendo Switch at a later date.
