According to the vast majority of slasher fans, the first
Darksiders game actually was the best one. While
Darksiders II tried to mimic games from the
Legends of Zelda franchise with the recently released
Darksiders III taking lessons from
Dark Souls, Vigil Games' first entry in the
Darksiders series was heavily inspired by
Metroid, and the final result exceeded almost everyone's expectations.
It looks like Gunfire (funded by the core staff members of Vigil) and THQ Nordic (former Nordic Games) are developing a Nintendo Switch port of the game. In a recent (and hilarious) exchange on Twitter between THQ Nordic and
Darksiders account, it was revealed that
Darksiders is coming to Switch as the profile "
did not start the Apocalypse early, nor did we prematurely talk about an upcoming game!"
Considering that the remastered version of the game, titled
Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, was released in 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, followed by a Wii U version that was released on May 23, 2017, this speculation definitely is grounded in reality. As a reminder,
Darksiders III hit stores in November, giving players a chance to hunt down the Seven Deadly Sins as War's impatient sister, Fury.
Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth. Darksiders III is the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise.
Darksiders III is available for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One NOW!
