At the moment, BioWare might not be in the greatest state right now. With two very important creative pawns at BioWare leaving, Mike Laidlaw and Drew Karpyshyn, and many people skeptical about their upcoming game, Anthem, their reputation hangs by a thread.
Information from this year's GDC revealed that Mike Laidlaw, the creative director who left BioWare, spoke out about their next instalment in their titular RPG series, Dragon Age.
According to Laidlaw, the development for the fourth entry is being delayed by the restructuring of the development teams. Basically, more devs are being transferred from Dragon Age 4, to work on their more important project, Anthem, which leaves fewer devs working on Dragon Age. This is similar to what happened to Mass Effect: Andromeda, with that same game being Anthem.
However, Laidlaw has high faith that BioWare will stay true to the Dragon Age title: “I don’t have any fear that they’ll change the world, because there’s a pretty deep respect for what it’s done.”
Dragon Age 4 has yet to be announced.
