Big Hero 6 was the second world confirmed for
Kingdom Hearts 3,
announced way back in 2015. Yes,
Kingdom Hearts 3 has been in development for that long! During the PlayStation Lineup Tour, a pre-Tokyo Game Show event, a new
Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer was released featuring the world alongside the characters that will be featured in it. The trailer is in Japanese, but thankfully you can use YouTube's closed captions feature to enable English subtitles.
The trailer opens with Sora, Donald, and Goofy battling Heartless on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransokyo, the fictional city in which the 2014 Disney animated feature takes place and a fusion of both San Francisco, California and Tokyo, Japan. Baymax and Hiro arrive and seemingly offer an important lesson in the value of teamwork. There are also short snippets showcasing gameplay in the
Monsters, Inc. and
Tangled world as well as ominous moments with the forces of Darkness.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to release January 29, 2019, for PS4 and Xbox One. It will also feature worlds inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, Frozen, Toy Story, and more. Which world are you most excited to visit?
