Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is a bit over a week away from finally becoming available, giving players here in the West a chance to get acquainted with the phenomenal, and long-running Captain Tsubasa series of manga and anime; particularly the latest iteration.
Developer Tamsoft and Bandai Namco announced Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions in January of this year, and so far they have shared a bunch of information that should give players a pretty good idea of what to expect from the upcoming arcade-style football title.
Interestingly enough, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions almost wasn't released in North America, as the developers at first believed that the game wouldn't sell well considering that the Captain Tsubasa series wasn't popular; in spite of the series being quite popular in Europe, the Middle East, and South America.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions has a lot of this going for it, so don't be fooled into thinking that it is another FIFA or PES title, as this cannot be any more wrong. What does have in common with the aforementioned series, however, is the fact that it will allow players to play with other people around the world.
In the latest trailer for Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, Bandai Namco goes in depth with the game's multiple online modes, which gives players the opportunity to play regular Versus matches, 2 vs. 2, but the most interesting aspect is that each character on the team can be fully customised.
While teams can be fully customised, players can also choose to play as the characters from the Captain Tsubasa series, instead of going the extra mile customising every character on their dream team.
