Rumours about a brand-new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater had been doing the rounds a lot over the last couple of years, and it was a very pleasant surprise to see that the rumours were true, as Activision announced a remaster of the first two entries in the critically acclaimed skateboarding series.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 may not be the all-new game that fans had been waiting for, but it is definitely the one that long-time fans of the series would receive with arms wide open; and why wouldn't they? After all, the first two games are widely considered to be the best the series has to offer.
Today we may have some great news for fans who simply can't get enough of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, as Tony Hawk, the Birdman himself, has revealed that he's not done with the series just yet, and that after the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 his plan is to keep making games.
In a recent interview with Game Informer, Tony Hawk revealed that the upcoming remaster of the first two games "is just the start...with that baseline we're hopefully going to be able to help remaster other titles, Pro Skater 3 and 4 even, and start to work on a new direction. That's ultimately the goal for me."
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is expected to release early in September of this year, and it is very likely that the game will sell like hot cakes, especially now that fans know there's the possibility of even more remasters on the way if the upcoming title sells well.
At this point, perhaps a brand-new game could end up becoming a reality before we get remasters of any other Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games. Whatever the case, this is really exciting news. The beloved skateboarding series needed a comeback and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is definitely what the franchise needed.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Epic) on the 4th of September.
