Thanks to Yahoo Movies, we have a new batch of Assassin's Creed images which show us how the past connects to the present as Michael Fassbender takes on dual roles in two different periods. This version of the Animus means his character has to move around in that as he would in the past, hence why he can be seen in these latest stills pulling off the same moves as his ancestor and descendant.

An original story rather than a direct take on one of the games, the movie picks up with Callum Lynch in the present after he discovers he’s a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain.

After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day. Set in the same world as the game, but just how closely tied to them it will be remains to be seen. Assassin’s Creed stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Ariane Labed, and is currently set to be released on December 21st, 2016. Are you guys excited?
