According to a rumour that has been doing the rounds lately, the highly anticipated sequel to Nintendo's critically acclaimed
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild could release as soon as next year — which, to be quite fair, isn't too far fetched.
Twitter user
@New_WabiSabi, who has previously accurately leaked information that turned out to be true, claims that
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be releasing at some point in 2020 — although, the user does reminds us that these dates are known to be pushed back by Nintendo; especially when it comes to
The Legend of Zelda titles.
Considering that all of the assets used in
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be reused, it isn't too crazy to think that the sequel could release next year. In the past, Nintendo has already managed to release titles almost back-to-back like
Ocarina of Time in 1998 and
Majora's Mask in 2000; two titles in
The Legend of Zelda series that used the same engine and assets.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released worldwide in March of 2017, and a sequel releasing at any point in 2020 is more than viable. Again, it is still best to take this information with a pinch of salt, but chances of the sequel actually releasing as soon as next year are pretty high.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel is currently in the works.
