Even before Nintendo officially announced the Nintendo Switch Lite, rumours had been going around the internet and suggesting that a budget version of the popular handheld hybrid console was in development, as well as a more powerful version.
The Nintendo Switch Lite was confirmed to be the budget version, but Nintendo never released the rumoured "Nintendo Switch Pro," but plauyers are still convinced that Nintendo will release one in the future in the same way that all of their handhelds have gotten revised versions of the former model.
As first reported by Video Games Chronicle, Taipei-based newspaper Economic Daily News has revealed that a new Nintendo Switch model could be releasing very soon; as soon as next year, actually. According to the report, this new model is actually expected to launch in Q1 of 2021.
When it comes to new features, it has been reported that this new Nintendo Switch model will feature upgraded "interactivity," as well as an improved display, although it is also likely that this alleged console will get more revisions than the aforementioned; from the Switch's flash storage to Joy-Con controllers, and more.
In April of this year, a new firmware update for the Nintendo Switch rolled out, which would seemingly support a new hardware model. To make things even spicier, this update specifically revealed that this new hardware model would implement a secondary display ala the Nintendo DS family of systems.
Interestingly enough, the most recent report mentions upgraded interactivity as one of the new Nintendo Switch model's features, which perfectly agrees with the reports about the dual-screen being added to a revised version of the console.
A Nintendo Direct presentation is rumoured to be livestreamed this Friday. If reports are to be believed, and this new Nintendo Switch console is indeed releaing in Q1 of 2021, we may even get an official announcement from Nintendo; although this is probably a huge stretch.
With all of this said, though, none of this has been officially confirmed by Nintendo, so it is still best to take this news as a rumour; still pretty exciting, though.
