One of the things to come out of
Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, as well as the Wii U console as a whole, were the NFC figurines that Nintendo introduced in 2014: amiibo.
These amiibo figurines allowed players to "train" that specific character, which would learn by fighting the players — making it a pretty worthy adversary in the long run, and far more difficult to fight against than regular NPCs.
As we all know, amiibo figures are also going to be making a comeback in
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with a few amiibo for characters like Ken, Young Link, Princess Daisy, and Ridley — among others — and a recent leak has revealed even more unnannounced amiibo figurines.
The leak in question is an image that seems to have been taken from one of the pages of the recently announced
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate guide in Japan, which shows
Metal Gear Solid series' Liquid Snake, Pokémon Trainer, Squirtle, Ivysaur,
Castlevania's Simon and Richter Belmont,
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption's Dark Samus,
Fire Emblem Awakening's Chrom, and
Metroid series' Ridley.
Nintendo released amiibo figurines for every single one of the fighters in the
Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS roster, so it is not too far fetched to think that they will do the same for the characters that are making a comeback, as well as the newcomers, so even if the leak turned out to be fake, there's still a pretty high chance of these amiibo eventually releasing. We just have to wait for that official announcement from Nintendo.
