Super Mario Maker is probably one of the best titles in the critically acclaimed Super Mario Bros. series, and the main reason for that is the simple fact that players are given a plethora of tools that allow them to create their very own, and unique levels to play and share with their friends.
Releasing for the Nintendo Wii U for the series' 30th anniversary,
Super Mario Maker quickly became one of the best titles in that console; so successful, in fact, that Nintendo released a port of the game for the Nintendo 3DS — albeit without the online level-sharing option.
During February's Nintendo Direct, and completely out of nowhere, the developer announced
Super Mario Maker 2 for the Nintendo Switch, adding a bunch of new features that fans had been asking Nintendo to add for years to the Wii U title.
What Nintendo didn't announce, however, was the game's release date, only telling us that it would be releasing at some point in June of this year. Today, Nintendo has finally revealed the official release date for the game, which will see
Super Mario Maker 2 hitting store shelves on the
28th of June, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
In this new game, a sequel to the original Wii U™ game, players can create the Super Mario courses of their dreams, with access to even more tools, items and features, including the new ability to create slopes for the first time.
Super Mario Maker 2 will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 28th of June.
