Nintendo Reveals That The Price Of The Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con Controllers Will Also Be Cut In North America

Nintendo as recently revealed that the price of the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con controllers will also be cut in North America, although it is still on the rather pricier side.

A couple of weeks ago we reported that Nintendo was cutting the price of the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con controllers, but this was a change that would only affect Japan, which was quite disappointing to find out considering that a sizeable number of users agree that they are slightly overpriced.

Now, Nintendo of America has confirmed that the price of the Switch's Joy-Con controllers will also be cut in North America, although it is still on the rather pricier side of things, as each Joy-Con will now retail for $39.99 USD starting Monday the 9th of November.

While purchasing both Joy-Con controllers individually, players will still be paying around $80 USD for a pair, but the great news is that this makes them cheaper-ish to replace. The price of one Joy-Con right now is that of $49.99 USD and $79.99 USD for the pair.

Again, this is technically still cheaper if you're planning on buying just the one Joy-Con, but it would be great if Nintendo also slashed the price of the bundle, especially since it doesn't seem like they are offering other colours but Neon Blue and Neon Red; those who may not like the combination will have to opt for a bundle.

While it isn't so much the price of the Joy-Con controllers that has players scratching their heads over, it's the fact that quite a bunch of them end up getting the infamous Joy-Con drift. While Nintendo has offered to fix the issue free of charge, it still requires players to send in their faulty controllers; leaving them, well, without controllers to play their games.

Things get even worse when Nintendo has seemingly revealed that they don't think the infamous Joy-Con drift is an inconvenience; information gathered by Chimicles, Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith, which is the law firm that opened a class action investigation over the Joy-Con drift.

Whatever the case, this is still good news for those looking to either replace or buy an extra Joy-Con, but it would still be preferrable that Nintendo cut the price of the pair of Joy-Con controllers; maybe even give consumers other colours to choose from.
