According to information revealed by VGChartz, the Nintendo Switch was the console of choice during this year's Christmas — with over a very impressive 1,5 million units sold; to be a little bit more precise, the amount of Nintendo Switch consoles sold for the week of the 21st of December was 1,529,976 units.
This study took into account global sales from the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania — where the Nintendo Switch outselling the competition in every single one of the regions considered for the analysis.
Global estimates reveal that the PlayStation 4 took the second place during Christmas week, with a quite impressive 667,111 units sold, and followed — albeit not too closely — by the Xbox One, which managed to sell 301,552 and took third place worldwide.
Even more interesting is the fact that this study also reveals that the Nintendo Switch has already managed to surpass the Xbox One's lifetime sales with a grand total of 48,837,857 units sold since March of 2017; quite impressive, considering that the Xbox One has been on the market since 2013.
