We have yet another juicy rumour in regards to the alleged Nintendo Switch Pro, as new information keeps suggesting that the Tokyo-based company will adding support for 4K when the next revision of the popular handheld hybrid console is released.
The information was first reported by Bloomberg, and it claims that Nintendo has got a pretty "beefed-up" lineup of games prepared for 2021, and that several outside game developers have been reporting that Nintendo is now requiring them to make their upcoming video games 4K-ready.
Bloomberg does reveal that the aforementioned outside video game developers have decided to remain anonymous, so this information should still be considered a rumour until Nintendo makes an official announcement in regards to this alleged Nintendo Switch revision.
On that very same note, Bloomberg reached out to Nintendo for comments on the topic, but the company's spokesperson simply declined to comment at the time.
A few weeks ago, Bloomberg also reported that their sources had been briefed on Nintendo's strategy for the revised console, which is the first time we heard about the company's plans for the new Nintendo Switch model to support 4K.
This report also agrees with the slew of games that Nintendo has prepared to release alongside the "Nintendo Switch Pro" console, so rumours may end up being true, and we may see a more powerful version of the console rather sooner than later.
Earlier this year, Nintendo released a firmware update that would seemingly support a new hardware model; one that could apparently implement a secondary display. If this was the case, Nintendo's Pro version of the Switch could well be a console that resembles more the Nintendo DS than the current console.
While this is all exciting news, Nintendo has not mentioned a single thing in regards to new versions of their popular console. All we can do — for now, at least — is patiently wait until the company makes an official announcement about this inevitable Nintendo Switch Pro.
