Mario Tennis Aces was revealed in January of this year during a Nintendo Direct and, to the surprise of many, it finally redesigned some of the characters and gave most of its roster proper tennis outfits instead of their classic outfits.
Pretty much since the release of
Mario Tennis Aces, the game has been getting a lot of support from Nintendo, announcing new characters almost every month, as well as adding some new game modes here and there to the point it has slowly become the game everyone expected it to be.
Recently, the official Nintendo UK Twitter revealed that Mario and Luigi will be getting their classic red and gree overall outfits, respectively. These outfits will become available for players who participate and perform well during the
Mario Tennis Aces January tournament.
Nintendo hasn't really confirmed whether these outfits will become available for everyone once the tournament is over in the same way they do with the characters they announce—which are exclusive for players who participate in the torunaments until these are over, thus becoming available for everyone—but it is highly unlikely that Mario and Luigi's classic outfits become a one-time event if that were the case.
