As one of the most "out of left field" characters that Nintendo could've announced for
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Piranha Plant was received with rather mixed reactions from fans fo the crossover fighting series.
In spite of the reception that the character's announcement may have had on long-time fans of the series, amiibo sales for the character were selling out extremely fast in Japan; proving that the character is still popular amongst long-time fans of the
Super Mario Bros. series.
Well, we have some good news for those fans of the iconic
Super Mario Bros. enemy that are excited for Piranha Plant to finally make its
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate debut , since new information points to the character finally becoming available for players to purchase or redeem
this February.
The news was reported by
Siliconera, who got the information from the Nintendo Switch news feed — which stated that Piranha Plant will be releasing in February. The aforementioned Piranha Plant amiibo is coming out on the 15th of February so it is very likely that both the amiibo and character become available on the same day, although Nintendo has yet to oifficially announce the release date.
