After being rumored for a while,
Crash Team Racing was finally revealed during this year's The Game Awards; bringing back the classic racing game that features the iconic Bandicoot and his friends.
The announcement trailer for Activision's
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled hit us right in the "nostalgia feels", as the trailer lovingly recreated the original trailer for Naughty Dog's
Crash Team Racing released in 1999; revealing that the new game would be coming out for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on the
21st of June in 2019.
A recent rumor going around, however, seems to suggest that the Nintendo Switch version of
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will not be meeting that June release date, and will probably end up releasing at a later date.
The information comes from Go Nintendo, who realised that multiple retailers removed pre-orders for
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled on the Nintendo Switch. The official webstie for the game also shows that the Nintendo Switch version's release date has been changed to "Coming Soon", unlike the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions that have kept that
21st of June release date.
It is yet unknown why the Nintendo Switch version of
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled could've been delayed or if this is even permanent. The Switch version of the game could still be release on the
21st of June, and maybe they've just changed pre-orders because they're still not certain if it will meet that deadline or not. We'll just have to wait for an official statement from Activision.
