Having released almost two years ago, one of the things that some players criticised about the Nintendo Switch was the lack of games by third party developers and the overabundance of games by independent developers. These days, the Nintendo Switch has solid support from third party developers, and still has some of the best indie titles that have been developed in recent years.
Again, while the Switch now has strong third party support, there is no denying that the console is the go-to device for indie games—and why shouldn't it be? It's portability makes it just as appealing for developers as it is for people who simply want to take their games with them.
Nintendo has recently released a couple of videos that highlight some of the best titles, by independent developers, on the Nintendo Switch.
There are some very solid choices like Matt Thorson's Celeste, which won Best Independent Game at The Game Awards and was even nominated for Game of the Year, Sabotage Studio's Ninja Gaiden spiritual successor The Messenger, Motion Twin's Dead Cells, Playdead's INSIDE, Aquiris' Top Gear spiritual successor Horizon Chase Turbo, and Nomada Studio's beautifully hand-drawn Gris—among many other titles worth checking out.
