The World Ends With You is an action role-playing game developed by Square Enix which originally came out for the Nintendo DS in 2007. Upon its release, the game was very well-received by critics, who praised its graphical presentation, fantastic soundtrack, and its setting—which takes place in Shibuya, Tokio.
At the time,
The World Ends With You took full advantage of the Nintendo DS hardware, being one of the few titles to actually make use of both screens aprropriately, the DS's touchscreen, and the console's mic. A new version of the game was also developed for iOS and Android in the form of
The World Ends With You: Solo Remix—which had to modify the combat system due to mobile devices not featuring a double screen like the Nintendo DS.
Another revision of the game was announced for the Nintendo Switch, titled
The World Ends With You: Final Remix, which we now have an official relase date for, as well as a brand new teaser trailer. As per the trailer, the game will be available physically and digitally on the
12th of October.
The World Ends With You: Final Remix is adding a new exclusive scenario, which promises to make the Nintendo Switch version the definitive experience. The game is also adding ne remixed music tracks, enemies, and plenty of additional content.
