When
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was revealed earlier this year, people didn't know if this new game was a port of the
Super Smash Bros. game released for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS released in 2014.
While we already know this isn't the case, it wasn't preposterous to think the new game could've been a port; especially given that the Nintendo Switch has become the new home for great Wii U titles that didn't get noticed on the console due to the console not being noticed by the consumers.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate actually has more than its huge roster of over 70 characters going for it. Character models have been completely redesigned, even though changes are a lot less noticeable unless compared side-by-side.
Today, Digital Foundry has released their thorough tech analysis of
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which compares
Ultimate with
Super Smash Bros. Wii U and
Super Smash Bros. 3DS; which are often considered to be the same game but they have a lot of differences that make each title unique—albeit with different stages, game modes, and character models.
