At its core, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is a sequel to 2017's Ghost Recon: Wildlands. While a big chunk of gameplay mechanics from that sandbox shooter will be reused in Breakpoint, there's one twist that changes the way you will play it: you're no longer the hunter – but the one being hunted.

Breakpoint will start with an earthquake and be followed by rising tension – as ex-Ghost Cole D. Walker, played by The Punisher's Jon Bernthal, and his goons have successfully managed to occupy the fictional archipelago of Auroa – the home of Skell Technology, a shady company that specializes in AI and drones. With infinite human resources and high-end tech, Walker will be the biggest obstacle the Ghosts have ever faced – killing 3 out of 4 members of the squad – with only Nomad being left alive.

While we definitely will learn more about Breakpoint during Ubisoft's E3 2019 media briefing – that will be held on Monday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. PT (10:00AM ET, 7:00AM GMT, 6:00AM on June 11 AEST) – the studio has released the first batch of screenshots for the new Ubisoft Paris-created video game.

Without further ado, be sure to take a look at the world of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint down below:

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse, hostile, and mysterious open world that you can play entirely solo or in four-player co-op. Injured, without support, and hunted down by ex-Ghosts, you must fight to survive while lost in Auroa. Choose the right alliances and decide how to take down your toughest enemy.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 4, 2019.
