Following in Nintendo's footsteps with their NES and SNES Classic consoles, Sega has also decided to re-enter the video game console-making race by releasing a miniature version of the
Sega Genesis/Mega Drive; taking players all the way back to the 90s during the 16-Bit era.
The
Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Mini, much like Nintendo's successful classic consoles, will be including 42 pre-loaded titles that go from the very first
Sonic the Hedgehog to other hit titles like Sega's
Virtua Fighter 2,
Altered Beast,
Golden Axe, and even third party titles like
Earthworm Jim and
Tetris — to name only but a few.
Although we're still about a month away from the console's release, Sega has shared the first trailer for the
Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Mini; showing off the console's
blast processing, as well as giving us a good look at some of the 42 pre-loaded titles it is including.
Friendly reminder that the
Sega Genesis/Mega Drive's release date in Europe and the Middle East has been pushed back to the
4th of October, but the rest of the world is still getting this classic console on the
19th of September. Also, to check out the full list of titles included in the console you can check them out by
