Chris Seavor, the creator of the acclaimed Nintendo 64 cult-classic Conker's Bad Fur Day, has recently made a very interesting statement that could make fans of a bunch of Rare-developed titles ecstatic.

According to Seavor, Rare intellectual properties like Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, and Conker's Bad Fur Day — to name only but a few — could well end up returning to Nintendo platforms; going as far as saying that the process is "inevitable".

On the possibility of Rare IPs returning to Nintendo Platforms Seavor said that "It is significant, very significant but it was also inevitable. You only have to look at the reaction to Banjo’s appearing in Smash to see that this was purely a fan driven thing, and fans are if nothing else a noisy and belligerent bunch. I mean, it’s an abbreviation of ‘Fanatic’ after all."

While Seavor does believe that these IPs could end up making a return on Nintendo consoles in the future, he's not too sure about his very own Conker's Bad Fur Day being one of them, stating that fans are the ones who could make it happen but he doesn't think it is likely.

"Whether they’ll be as loud about the other IP’s including Conker is up for debate… I’d say not likely," added Seavor.

Back in the 90s, Rare was Nintendo's go-to first-party developer, but in 2002 the English developer was bought out by Microsoft, and Rare titles have not been re-released on Nintendo consoles since.

The response that Banjo and Kazooie joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had is one of the things that could end up making Microsoft reconsider releasing some of Rare's IPs on Nintendo consoles in the future.

Earlier this week, Matt Booty — head of Microsoft Studios — revealed that some of their first-party titles could end up being released on other consoles; making Rare's intellectual properties making a comeback on Nintendo consoles even more of a reality now than ever before. Let's just keep our fingers crossed for something liek this to happen.
