Nintendo may have yet another lawsuit on their hands, as a new video posted online seemingly suggests that the brand-new, and recently released
Nintendo Switch Lite also suffers from the infamous Joy-Con drift issue that's been affecting a large number of Nintendo Switch owners.
The video was posted on Reddit by user
u/TorteDeLini, where we can appreciate that the right analog stick on the user's
Nintendo Switch Lite already suffers from the drifting issue present in the normal Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con controllers.
Back in July of this year, a law firm opened a
class action investigation over the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con drift issue, to what Nintendo promptly replied with a statement claiming that that they would be
fixing any drifting issues for free; somewhat addressing the issue but not really tackling the main problem.
If this new video is to be believed, Nintendo may have an even bigger problem on their hands — since sending a Joy-Con controller for repairs may be one thing, but sending the whole console is a different story; let alone the fact that the
Nintendo Switch Lite released three days ago.
Over the weekend, YouTube channel
SpawnWave took apart a Nintendo Switch Lite and noticed that Nintendo had used the very same type of analog stick that was known to cause the infamous Joy-Con drift; pointing to the problem eventually becoming a reality for
Nintendo Switch Lite users.
It'll be definitely interesting to see what happens moving forward, but the fact that a single user has already reported that their
Nintendo Switch Lite console also suffers from the drifting issue is a pretty bad sign. Oh, Nintendo...
A new addition to the Nintendo Switch family will arrive on 9/20. Nintendo Switch Lite is compact and lightweight, making it easy to take on the go! This dedicated handheld device lets you play all Nintendo Switch games that support handheld mode. It will be available in three different colors.
Nintendo Switch Lite is currently available.
