Capcom definitely stole the show once they showed off the trailer for the highly anticipated
Resident Evil 2 remake—during this year's E3. The remake was announced all the way back in 2015 and we've had little to no information regarding the project so it was definitely a surprise when we saw the game's trailer.
Without a doubt,
Resident Evil 2 became the most talked about game from the conference, and for good reason. The
Resident Evil 2 remake not only looks great, but it brings back all of the elements that the series has lost over the years. Newer titles are more focused on action than they are on survival, and that's not what fans of the franchise expect from
Resident Evil—so it is definitely a breath of fresh air to see that, gameplay-wise, the
Resident Evil 2 remake is taking the series back to its roots, while also being its own thing.
Today, we have great news regarding the Game Critics Awards as
Resident Evil 2 has won in the "Best of Show" category. Capcom also showed off some gameplay of the game during the E3, which helped even more when it came to garnering attention towards the
Resident Evil 2 remake.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,
Marvel's Spider-Man,
Kingdom Hearts III, and
Fortnite also took the spotlight in the Best Fighting Game, Best Console, Best RPG, and Best Ongoing Game categories.
Special Commendations include
Cyberpunk 2077 for Graphics, as well as Innovation,
The Last of Us Part II also commended for Graphics, as well as Sound, and
Ghost of Tsushima is commended for Graphics. To see the rest of the winners,
