Blizzard's Update 1.29 For WARCRAFT III Is The Game's Biggest Patch In Years With Widescreen Support And More

It looks like we won't play WarCraft IV anytime soon, but Blizzard is still improving WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos, which was released 16 years ago, with the widescreen support, and some major bug fixes...

WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos was released 16 years ago exclusively on PC sitting at impressive 92% on Metacritic. We still have to wait to play a proper sequel, but it looks like Blizzard remembers about the game and just released a new update that fixes a lot of major and minor bugs. The 1.29 patch also includes a variety of new features and improvements with the inclusion of the widesreen mode.

The game lobbies have also been expanded to support 24 players, with 12 new team colors contributed by Erkan and others. Ladder standings have been reset, and Blizzard said that automated tournaments will be brought back this week. The map pool has been updated. World Editors now includes an object limit increase to 30,000, map size limit set at 480x480, and a tile slot limit set at 16.

There are a lot of small tweaks in the patch, Chain Lightning's damages have been reduced from 15% to 10%, and the Carrion Swarm mana cost has been reduced. You can check out the full list of fixes below:
