Fans of the Crysis series were really excited to find out that Crytek was working on a remasteredversion of the very first entry in the series; excitement that didn't last long, unfortunately, since the announcement trailer leaked the night before it was officially released, and players were not impressed.

Crytek was quick to address fan concerns, and decided to indefinitely delay the release of Crysis Remastered — which was originally intended to release for all platforms on the 23rd of July — in order to polish some details, and hopefully deliver the top quality product fans expected from them.

In an interesting turn of events, however, Crytek revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of the game would, indeed, be releasing on the 23rd of July, although they have yet to reveal when Crysis Remastered will finally become available on other platforms; the developer reassures that it will be soon, though.

Today, Crytek has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch version of Crysis Remastered will be compatible with the popular console's gyro controls, which will make aiming quite a breeze when playing through the game. The developer has to confirm whether this is an exclusive feature to the Switch version of the game, or if it will also be implemented on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

With all that said, it is best that you don't hold your breath on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Cyrsis Remastered getting gyro controls; for some reason, developers only implement this feature on Switch versions of their games. Go figure.

Crytek’s ground-breaking, critically acclaimed first person shooter is back! Crysis Remastered is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch – the game's debut on a Nintendo platform.

Crysis Remastered is expected to release for the Nintendo Switch on Thursday the 23rd of July; PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions to release soon.
