In April of this year, Crytek's official Twitter account for the Crysis series shared a very interesting post that only read "RECEIVING DATA" and led fans of the series to believe that an announcement for a Crysis 4 was imminent.

Crytek then officially confirmed that this wasn't the case, but this was still some pretty great news for fans who had been itching for a new game, as they officially announced Crysis Remastered; a fully fledged remaster of the game that only the most powerful PCs could run back in 2007.

What's more, Crytek also confirmed that Crysis Remastered wasn't only releasing on PC, revealing that PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even Nintendo Switch versions were currently in the works, and expected to launch at a later date; with the Nintendo Switch version being the first to become available.

As it is to be expected from a proper remaster, Crysis Remastered features a tonne of visual enhancements that make the original game pale in comparison(no, seriously), and it is also introducing Ray Tracing; for the first time ever on current-gen consoles.

While many already got the chance to experience the Nintendo Switch version of the game — which looks absolutely fantastic, all things considered — we are now happy to report that Crysis Remastered has finally become available on all of the remaining platforms.

As Crytek celebrates the highly anticipated release of Crysis Remastered, they have released an action-packed trailer that will give players a taste of what to expect from the game once they finally get their hands on it.

Take a look:

What begins as a simple rescue mission becomes the battleground of a new war as alien invaders swarm over a North Korean island chain. Armed with a powerful Nanosuit, players can become invisible to stalk enemy patrols, or boost strength to lay waste to vehicles. The Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armor, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight, while a huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style. In the ever-changing environment, adapt tactics and gear to dominate your enemies, in an enormous sandbox world.

Crysis Remastered is currently available for the Nintendo Switch; PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions available today.
